Amaretti cake

A traditional Italian Recipe. Because sometimes you have to go far to discover where you heart belongs. I know mine pumps great food and family recipes! A very easy and tasty recipe! And you don’t even need a mixer! Not even “waiting time”! These are the traditional Italian recipes that I like to share with you:

300 gr Flour
100gr melted butter
150 gr sugar
1 egg
1 baking powder

300gr Ricotta Cheese or Philadelphia
100gr sugar
150gr ground almond
1 egg
1 pack Amaretti biscuits
Some drops Almond seasoning


Amaretti cake


1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 180° C
2. Grease and line the sides and bottom of a 20cm / 8-inch round cake tin with butter and a pinch of flour
3. Crumble the Amaretti biscuits until you obtain an Amaretti “powder”
4. Put the Amaretti powder and all the ingredients for the filling into a bowl and stir
5. In another bowl mix flour, butter, 1 egg, baking powder and sugar and stir
6. Split the dough in two
7. Crumble half of the dough gently with your fingers into the tin, until you cover the surface, press it a little bit with your hands, create the borders (1.5 cm high)
8. Add the filling
9. Cover the surface of the cake by crumbling the remaining dough gently with your fingers
10. Place in the oven and bake for 40 minutes, until golden crispy.
